The Pierre Twins

Wednesday night we had the opportunity to take senior photos for our friends Mike and Barb. Their twin girls, Dana and Kelly, were not excited about the photo shoot when we first starting talking about it. We got to their house about 6:00 that evening to find the girls ready to go. Kelly was starting to show an interest, but Dana still wasn't sure about the whole thing. Once we started, there was no stopping these girls! They had a blast! We went to four different locations around town, each different from the next. They were great to photograph since they knew how to get each other to laugh and relax and enjoy the evening. Thanks girls!

Ennis Lake

Last weekend we decided to take a little family outing. My dad was up at Ennis Lake fishing, so we decided to drive up for the day and do a little fishing as well as get out of town for the day. Fishing wasn't a huge success. I caught about a three inch trout with my hand and Brent caught one quite a bit bigger, but we have no photographic evidence of either. It was a great day to spend outside. The weather was hot and the water was cool. We had a few friendly little visitors hanging around including a snake swimming in the water and some little mouse-like creature. Oh the fun things that nature brings!

Mini Photo Shoot

Saturday morning I had a small photo shoot with my two nieces and two nephews. We have been wanting to get some shots of the kids and their mom was wanting some new photos, so it worked out well. First up was Thomas, the little model. He just knew what to do! Hardly any instruction was given and he took great shots! Next up was Makayla, the youngest. She needed a little instruction and coaxing to get the smiles, but she is darn cute. Then came Austin and Alex, the two oldest and veterans when it comes to pictures. Their shoot was short and sweet. With a good outdoor setting and great kids, we got some cute pictures!

60th Bash

On Friday August 8th, we attended the 60th birthday party of our sister-in-law's dad, Paul. It was a small get together that included family, friends, food and fun! Everyone seemed to enjoy the time together and the food was delicious-gigantic steaks and corn on the cob, with a few other dishes. The evening concluded with cake and ice cream and conversation in the backyard, lit by tiki torches! Happy Birthday Paul! We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did!

Olivia

Last Wednesday, we had our friends Brian and Shayla come over with their 16 month old, Olivia. What a character this one is! She had us all smiling and laughing all night. From the way she says "Hello!" to the scowl that she makes, she is a cute little redhead! She's not a shy one by any means and likes to entertain. Ask her to say "cheese" and she does, posing, not missing a beat! She's a fan of the camera and it seems to like her as well!

Lions, Zebras and Chimps Oh My!!

While on our vacation in Canada, we got the chance to go to the local zoo Parc Safari. I had been there a long time ago, but Brent hadn't been there and we decided that it would be a good way to spend a Saturday. After waiting in line for what seemed like forever, we finally entered. The zoo is set up with a drive thru safari, then there are rides and a water park and then a jungle walkabout that loops around the inside. We decided to do the driving first mainly due to time constraints. This is the fun part because as you are driving around there are animals that are walking next to your car, checking you out and looking for a snack. Sometimes it can be a little scary, especially when they try and stick their heads in your window. Brent found this out first hand with a red cow type animal. Brent was taking his picture and the next thing we knew, the animal was trying to get in and Brent was almost on my dad's lap. Luckily his horns were too big and he didn't get in too far. This added a little excitement to the day! We were fortunate enough to see the new white lions that they just recently added to the zoo. They are not albino, but a true white lion that are very rare. There are only about 200 in the world. All in all it was a great day to visit the zoo!

Oh Canada!

July brought a BIG family vacation. Brent, Mallory and I, along with Grandma and Grandpa, headed up to Quebec for a five day vacation. This was Mallory's first airplane ride, plus her first time in a different country. My brother Jason, his wife Vanessa and their two kids, Milo and Lola live up there along with my dad's side of the family. Great-Grandma turns 90 today and we went up there to have an early birthday bash. Lola was born in February and we had yet to meet her, so it was a chance to meet her, see the others and have everyone meet Mallory. The trip was a fast and furious one! We saw as much family as we could and enjoyed the birthday. We don't get a chance to get up there as much as we would like, so when we do, we make the most of it. Thanks to Jason and Vanessa for housing all of us and throwing a great party!

Jaye & Ledin's Wedding

Saturday June 21st was a great day for Jaye and Ledin's summer wedding. It was an honor to be apart of their day and capture the moments that they will never forget. It was a sweet ceremony in the Holy Rosary Parish followed by a relaxing reception at the Holiday Inn. From the look in their eyes, you can tell that this is one couple meant to be together. They both have a calmness about one another as well as a desire to make sure that everyone knows they are appreciated. We felt like part of the family throughout the day. Good luck Jaye and Ledin in all of your future endeavors!

Our New Arrival

June 8th happened to be the most exciting day this year. This was the day that our daughter came to meet us. The entire pregnancy had been a good one, not much sickness and very few emotional breakdowns, so we were hoping that the delivery was going to be the same. My due date had been the 11th of June and after talking to our doctor, we decided to induce on the 12th since we had a wedding to do on the 21st. Cutting it close...I know! Our doctor made the comment that because we scheduled an induction, the baby would come on it's own and sure enough, she did. I was hoping for a June 7th baby because the birth date would have been 06-07-08 and that would have been neat, but we know babies, they come when they are ready. Instead of coming on the 7th, I went into labor the night of. Labor started at 11:30 that night. I labored at home all night and we got to the hospital at 6:30 on the morning of the 8th. At 10:31 am, Mallory Joanne came into our lives. I was sure I was having a boy the entire pregnancy and just like that, it was a girl. We have been blessed with her presence in our lives. She is a great baby and we couldn't be happier!
